DONATION SUPERVISOR
General Description of Position
Responsible for overseeing the operations of the donation centers and home pickup team including maintaining the ADC’s and employees, handling donor inquiries, monitoring production goals, training donation center associates, and scheduling home pickups. Ensures all locations operate in alignment with company policies, safety regulations, and customer service expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervises staff, giving them oral and written communication regarding work performance as necessary.
Interviews applicants and conduct workplace orientations for new hires, ensuring all personnel files are maintained and secured.
Initiates and completes personnel and payroll records in a timely manner as well as other paperwork required in the day-to-day operations of the donation centers.
Keeps employees’ daily attendance records and approves employees’ vacation and time off requests.
Oversees daily operations, including donation intake, sorting, and compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Manages the home pickup team, ensuring efficient scheduling, routing, and customer service for home pickups.
Serves as the primary point of contact during operation hours, remaining on call to address urgent issues, staffing concerns, or operational challenges.
Provides coverage at donation centers as needed, stepping in to support locations experiencing staffing shortages or operational disruptions.
Handles employee communication and issue resolution, responding to concerns, coaching staff, and maintaining a positive and productive work environment.
Coordinates with leadership, providing updates on performance, challenges, and opportunities for improvement across all locations.
Supports donation drive events and special campaigns as needed.

Education and Experience
High School or GED, plus specialized schooling and/or on the job educations in a specific skill: office skills, shop skills, or others. 12-18 months related experience and/or training, plus 1 to 6 months of related management experience.

Supervisor Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, offboarding/termination on a semi regular basis; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Supervises multiple small groups of 4-6 employees, usually of lower classifications. Assigns and checks work, assists and instructs as required, and at times, performs the same work as those supervised. Content of the work supervised is of a non-technical nature but presents numerous situations to which policies and precedents must be interpreted and applied. Supervises the following departments: Donation Centers, Home Pickup Team.
Working Conditions
Somewhat disagreeable working conditions. Continuously exposed to one or two elements such as noise, intermittent standing, walking; and frequent pushing, carrying or lifting. May involve some travel and/or work is at times, in the evening or during the night hours.
