Position Summary
The role of the Accounts Receivable Specialist reports to the Director of Business Services. This position is responsible for ensuring accuracy with patient demographic information entered in the billing system.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Accurately documents patient demographic and insurance information in the designated software system
- Verify insurance eligibility utilizing appropriate software or partnering with insurance provider
- Monitor accounts to ensure payments are received timely and create follow up schedule to escalate claim, as needed
- Assist with monitoring the front desk including answering telephones, receiving and distributing correspondence
- Establish effective working relationships with all stakeholders
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Licensure and Certifications: N/A
- Experience: Previous experience in a clerical support role, preferred. Previous experience with medical terminology, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
