Position Summary
The role of the Materials Manager reports to the Administrator. This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day processes of the department and maintaining inventory of materials used at the facility. This position reconciles invoices, statements, and partnering with leadership to negotiate contracts.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Ensure proper staffing levels for department through recruiting, interviewing, and making hiring selections
- Provide ongoing and annual evaluation of employee work performance
- Develop and implement strategies for the department to ensure effective business practices
- Partner with leadership to create and implement policies and procedures
- Control inventory levels utilizing various types of reconciliation methods, including conducting physical counts and verifying data entered into the storage system
- Oversee inventory vitality by forecasting inventory needs, monitoring for product expiration, and ensuring that product is rotated effectively
- Achieve financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
- Develop and implement training for new and current employees in partnership with distribution manager
- Facilitate off-site pickup and delivery of sensitive documents, recyclable materials, soiled linens, and non-regulated medical waste requiring the proper use of personal protective equipment while ensuring accurate and detailed documentation is maintained
- Maintain knowledge of interdepartmental software systems
- Assist with stocking supplies
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. College Degree, preferred.
- Licensure & Certifications: CST or LPN, preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year experience in an acute care environment or clinic setting, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
