Position Summary
The role of the Nurse Manager reports to the Clinic Manager in partnership with the Clinic Physician. This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day coordination of nursing staff and aides. This position will participate in direct patient care.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day workflow in the clinic as it relates to patient care
- Provide new employee and ongoing training to nursing and clinical staff, as appropriate
- Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
- Prepare patient for various types of procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed
- Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
- Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
- Assist patient by providing direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician.
- Serve as patient liaison and advocate, as needed.
- Actively participate in the hiring process for nursing and clinical staff.
Qualification
- Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure and Certifications: Valid registered nurse license and CPR, required.
- Experience: Must have previous healthcare or clinical experience. Previous leadership or supervisory experience, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 70% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 30% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
