Position Summary

The role of the Clinical Coordinator reports to the Administrator. This position is responsible for the coordination of clinical services with providers and nursing staff. This position supervises all nursing staff including RN’s, ACNA, and monitor techs while functioning as a member of the management team.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assign work; establish goals and priorities for nursing and support staff in the health care setting
  • Responsible for day-to-day operations in running the floor; assessing available resources, patient and unit needs and coordinates care based on patient acuity.
  • Meet with staff and administrative team on a regular basis to solve problems to improve quality and efficiency of patient care
  • Direct, coordinate, and participate in the professional nursing care of patients within an assigned unit pursuant to the objectives and policies, the nursing process, and established nursing standards
  • Strive to improve and facilitate patient care and satisfaction
  • Assist in creating and implementing QI objectives in areas of nursing and patient safety
  • Implement and interpret policies and procedures developed
  • Serve as an advocate in representation of all nursing staff
  • Serve as a resource in clinical situations
  • Provide supervision over the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in the assigned health care setting
  • Resolve problems encountered by the employee or patient during the assigned shift
  • Receive informal grievances and conducts preliminary discussions for settlement when necessary
  • Initiate intermittent attendance disciplinary action and recommends progressive action for employees as necessary
  • Perform full performance level professional nursing work and enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reviewing current literature, in-service meetings, workshops, and research
  • Ensure that program and services meet accrediting standards for the Joint Commission and other accrediting programs

Qualifications

  • Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Arkansas Registered Nurse License and CPR, required. ACLS and PALS required within 6 months. CAPA certification, preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience, required.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
