Position Summary

The role of the Waiting Room Attendant reports to the Director of Surgical Services. This position is responsible for providing updates and information to surgery patients and guests.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, family members, hospital staff, and physicians
  • Engage and interact with patient, guests, and staff in an appropriate, positive manner
  • Provide updates and relay information to surgery patients and guests as appropriate
  • Answer and respond to incoming phone calls in an appropriate and professional manner
  • Maintain cleanliness and restock hospitality station in Surgery waiting room

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Licensure and Certifications: CPR, required within 90 days of hire.
  • Experience: Previous clerical and customer service experience, required. Bilingual, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 90% of the time sitting and 10% of time standing and/or walking short distances. This position may be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
