Position Summary
The role of the System Administrator I reports to the Technology Infrastructure Manager. This position is responsible for systems support including maintenance, patching, and upgrades across various applications and hardware. This position operates within a technology team tasked with monitoring, upgrading, and maintaining the enterprise infrastructure environment.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Track and support multiple projects and demands.
- Collect and provide data analytics for technical findings.
- Participate in enterprise-wide application and system implementations and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and maintain various systems at basic- to intermediate-level.
- Obtain and possess knowledge of change control procedures and documentation.
- Provide proactive and preventive maintenance and monitoring across various systems.
- Provide level-III helpdesk support to PC Tech team for various systems, including Windows OS, endpoint, application, peripherals, connectivity.
- Assist with resolving networking issues and perform basic configuration. Possess general understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, Ethernet, copper/fiber cabling, routing and switching, DHCP, DNS.
- Support Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services including understanding of AD objects, permissions, authorization/authentication, domain controllers, security, FSMO roles.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Server Enterprise operating systems. Require general understanding of common Microsoft Server roles, Remote Services, security, OS network config, update and patching, best practices.
- Possess general knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
- Possess basic scripting knowledge including PowerShell, command line, and bash preferred.
- Possess basic understanding of virtual environment concepts and implementations.
- Provide support for enterprise-class productivity applications such as email and Office suite.
- Possess basic understanding of Cloud SaaS/PaaS architecture and ability to support.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High school diploma or GED required; IT/CIS associate degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Licensure and Certifications: CCNA, MCSA, VCA, RHCSA, or similar certifications preferred.
- Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience in system administrator, technical enterprise IT role or equivalent. Must possess knowledge and understanding of Microsoft domain and general networking concepts and must have experience maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure systems at the enterprise level. Must be capable of mastering multiple production systems and able to work well within a team to effectively coordinate and complete tasks, project work and other assignments.
