PACE, or Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly, is a Medicare program designed to support the needs of people 55 and older who qualify for nursing home care but can safely remain at home with the support and services offered by PACE. PACE of the Ozarks offers many services as needed based on each participant’s care plan, including primary care services, a day center, prescription medications, medical supplies and equipment, and home health.

Position Summary

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse reports clinically to the physician and administratively to the Clinic Manager. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting physicians with procedures, and assisting with front office duties, as needed.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
  • Prepare patient for various procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed
  • Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
  • Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
  • Assist patient by providing direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
  • Serve as patient liaison and advocate, as needed
  • Schedule surgeries and various diagnostic tests and provide scheduled date to the patient

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR, required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years previous experience working as a LPN on an interdisciplinary team, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
