Position Summary

The role of the Medical Records Tech Team reports to the Administrative Manager. This position is responsible for maintaining medical records, as well as assisting with office clerical support, as necessary.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Receive, process, and respond to correspondence including telephone calls, incoming and outgoing messages, and e-mails, in a timely and professional manner
  • Prepare and distribute all correspondence as it pertains to medical records
  • Ensure all necessary documents are filed in the patient medical record and records are maintained in the filing system
  • Reconcile medical charts and assist with locating charts, documents, and import process of new records
  • Assist medical record techs with tasks, as necessary
  • Assist patient care staff with the preparation of new patient charts
  • Partner with internal and external facilities to obtain medical records and fulfill medical record requests
  • Remain knowledgeable regarding regulations pertaining to release of protected health information
  • Assist with ensuring organization of office
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Licensure and Certifications: N/A
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clerical support role or medical office, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of the time walking and/or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will require travel between Washington Regional campuses.
