Position Summary

The role of the Licensed Practical Nurse reports to the Clinic Manager in coordination with the physician. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history and medications while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
  • Perform any necessary CLIA-waived tests
  • Clean room after patient use
  • Ensure exam rooms are stocked with appropriate materials
  • Appropriately process soiled instruments
  • Respond timely to patient messages and inquiries
  • Obtain insurance prior authorizations for consultation and/or imaging, as needed
  • Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
  • Coordinate any appointment and/or procedures with other providers or facilities, as necessary
  • Assist front office staff with daily operations, as needed

Qualifications

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Licensed practical nurse and CPR, required.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a nursing role, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 50% of the time standing and/or walking frequent short distances and 40% of time sitting in a standard office environment for data input and 10% of time reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling, and/or squatting.
