Position Summary

The role of the Certified Pharmacy Technician reports to the Director of Pharmacy. This position, under close supervision of a registered pharmacist, assists the pharmacist in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records as assigned within their scope of practice.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Manages inventory of automated dispensing cabinets
  • Deliver medications to nursing stations and other patient care areas
  • Refill and manage inventory of emergency kits
  • Repack medications for hospital use
  • Perform medication histories
  • Complete required documentation to meet state and federal laws

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED, required.
  • Licensure and Certifications: Registration with the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy, National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT), required.
  • Experience: Experience as a Pharmacy Technician, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
