Position Summary
The role of the Clinical Pharmacist reports to the Director of Pharmacy. This position is responsible for reviewing medication orders, fills orders for medications, and monitors patient drug therapies. This position provides drug information to interdisciplinary team members patients, as required. This position will oversee day-to-day operations of the department including overseeing support personnel. This position will serve as back up to the director, as required.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Review medication orders to ensure accuracy
- Monitor patient drug regimens and partner with interdisciplinary team members to optimize care
- Supervise and provide guidance to pharmacy support personnel and students
- Perform medication history with patient, educate patient on proper use of medication and potential adverse effects, and prepare and dispense pharmaceuticals to patients
- Participate in multidisciplinary committee meetings, as assigned
- Ensure records maintained as required by state and federal law
Qualifications
- Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy
- Licensure and Certifications: Licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Arkansas
- Experience: Previous experience in an acute care pharmacy setting, preferred.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment and 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs.
