Description

The Director of Value Based Program-Ambulatory leads, directs and manages value-based programs and/or any other federally prescribed Health Information Technology (HIT) reform initiatives in the ambulatory setting.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets how VBP and HIT reforms may impact operations or workflows
  • Prioritizes performance improvement plans to support program requirements.
  • Coordinates VBP/HIT program work groups for ambulatory clinics with clinic administration, IT, and the Population Health Team
  • Directing activities of Practice Transformation and Value Based Programs
  • Coordinates with Clinic IT team the regulatory requirements, EHR workflows, policies and procedures, and reporting needs to ensure clinic staff and providers remain up to date
  • Prepares reports and audits quarterly or as needed
  • Maintains responsibility for the attestations for all ambulatory VBP’s as required by all federal, state, and private payer’s requirements
  • Assists in achieving patient quality of care, regulatory agency standards and system budgetary goals
  • Serves in an administrative capacity with 24/7 accountability.
  • Provides direct supervision and leadership for the Practice Transformation Team and other VBP team members.
  • Helps to develop an organizational culture which creates a clear vision for the future and defines the values that achieve day-to-day activities and meets the changing needs of the community.
  • Develops and implements productivity measures and methods of budget control to further the mission, values, and strategic plan.
  • Draws on information from a variety of resources to alter processes and improve performance.
  • Actively participates with other hospital leaders (governing body, medical staff, clinical, and management leaders) on long range planning that promotes WRMC’s strategic plan and supports future community health needs.

Qualifications

  • Education: Healthcare related experience required. Must either have obtained or are in pursuit of a Master’s degree in a health care related field.
  • Licensure and Certifications: A degree or certificate in nursing informatics systems, health care and /or clinical therapies, diagnostic imagining, pharmacy, or laboratory.
  • Work Experience: 5 to 7 years of experience in healthcare operations or a related function.
  • Minimum 5 years’ healthcare HIT experience with at least 2 years managing complex EHR implementation and optimization projects across a healthcare organization is required.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential to effectively interact with all age and socioeconomic levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • Specific experience with Allscripts, Greenway, Cerner, and e-Clinical Works, is preferred
  • Must possess the ability to manage multiple tasks and resolve problems efficiently.

Physical Requirements

  • The majority of time is spent sitting (up to 80% of work time) with frequent standing and walking of short distances (up to 20% of work time.)
  • This position is occasionally required to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 lb. (up to 20% of work time.)
  • Travel among system facilities is required.
  • This position functions in both office and clinical settings, with potential for exposure to communicable disease and body fluids
