Position Summary
The role of the Patient Placement Center Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) reports to the Director of Patient Access. This position is responsible for overseeing the placement of patients.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to coordinate patient placement including transfers from outside facilities and direct patient admissions
- Communicate with internal clients regarding physician orders
- Utilize appropriate software to ensure proper patient placement according to physician orders
- Maintain effective and timely communication between appropriate personnel in regard to department staffing, patient accommodations, and departmental capacities.
- Answer various telephones and record required data
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Licensure and Certifications: Licensed Practical Nurse license and CPR, required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an acute clinical nursing environment.
Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will spend 20% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will be exposed to communicable disease and bodily fluids. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
