Description

Position Summary

The role of the Registered Nurse reports to the EP Manager in partnership with the Clinic Physician. This position is responsible for providing direct patient care, assisting physicians with procedures, and assisting with front office duties, as needed.

Essential Position Responsibilities

  • Obtain patient vitals and update patient medical history while inputting data collected into the electronic medical records system
  • Provide education related to pre and post procedures and assist with cardiac implantable device needs, as necessary instructions
  • Assist patient with scheduling necessary follow up appointments, ensure patient has necessary literature and identifying current and ongoing patient care needs
  • Triage calls per established provider protocols for all EP patients, partnering directly with the EP physicians or cardiologists, and document details in electronic medical record
  • Prepare patient for various types of procedures and/or examinations and assist physicians, as needed
  • Communicate and collaborate with staff, providers, and clinic leaders regarding operational issues, patient care concerns, and policy and procedure issues and staffing on an ongoing basis
  • Refill provider-authorized medications via electronic, fax or phone as authorized and appropriate
  • Provide direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
  • Assist patient by providing direction, support, and counseling regarding medical therapies and medications as directed by the physician
  • Serve as patient liaison and advocate, as needed
  • Schedule surgeries and various diagnostic tests and provide scheduled date to the patient

Qualification

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • Licensure and Certifications: Registered Nurse license and CPR, required. ACLS and Dysrhythmia required within 6 months.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a clinic setting, preferred.

Work Environment: This position will spend 80% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 20% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment.
