\nInsurance Claims Analyst
Washington Regional Medical Center is our region’s only locally governed, community-owned, not-for-profit healthcare system. Position Summary
Research and resolve insurance billing issues at the time of claims submission, receipt of denial or non contracted payment, and refund requests. Assigned to specific insurance(s) and providers/specialties but expected to learn on the job other insurances and specialties for career growth. Expected to interact daily with all stakeholders including but not limited to insurance companies, clinic and hospital personnel, and patients. Maintain current assigned insurance(s) guidelines, policies, and procedures related to payment of claims. Will be expected to communicate this information to various areas of the organization on a requested basis. Be able to learn disparate medical, billing, and insurance software systems to facilitate the collection of information to resolve billing issues. The majority of work time (up to 80%) is spent sitting with intermittent standing and walking of short distances. Work is performed in a standard office environment.

Specific Educational and Skill Competencies Required
Specific insurances or medical specialties require some level of experience. Most analyst positions do not require a minimum amount of experience. Good communication and analytical skills. Basic working knowledge of the MS Office suite of software, and the ability to operate standard office equipment. Broad knowledge of medical terminology, medical collections, and ICD-9 and CPT coding is preferred but not required. High School or GED
