POSITION SUMMARY

\n

The Physical Therapy Technician assists the Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant in administering treatments such as hydrotherapy, ambulation, performance of modalities and exercise programs. This position has exposure to communicable disease and body fluids. This position spends the majority of time walking and/or standing (up to 60% of work time). Frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 50 lb. is also required (up to 30% of work time). This position serves a variety of age groups: pediatrics (5% of work time), adolescents (5), adults (40%) and geriatrics (50%). Travel to offsite facilities may be required.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL AND SKILL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

\n

Good communication skills and successful completion of high school studies. If the technician has no experience in the PT field, on-the -job training will be provided.
