\nPosition Summary
\nThe role of the Laboratory Supervisor reports to the Assistant Laboratory Director. This position is responsible for serving as a liaison for internal and external clients. This position will oversee testing processes and personnel while ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines.
\nEssential Position Responsibilities

- Provide resolution for issues through various means of consultation including telephone calls, onsite, and electronically \n
- Maintain departmental documentation requirements for test performance characteristics \n
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including participation in proficiency testing, quality control management, training, and competency evaluations of testing personnel \n
- Proactive in identifying potential problems, able to troubleshoot situations quickly with a resolution and provide direction to staff as needed \n
- Assist with creating and implementing policies, procedures, and documentation, as appropriate \n
- Partner with department educator to provide education and training strategies to staff \n
- Assist in the design and implementation of performance improvement projects, monitor progress, and perform corrective actions \n
- Assist in monitoring budget related processes \n
- Assist with day-to-day department operations \n
- Remain available to all staff, seeking opportunities to become actively involved, lend support, address problems, and suggest areas of improvement \n
Qualifications

- \nEducation:Must be a graduate of an accredited Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science program, required. \n
- \nLicensure and Certifications: ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification, required. \n
- \nExperience: Minimum of 4 years of relevant medical laboratory experience and meets qualifications of a Technical Supervisor of laboratories performing high complexity testing in accordance with CLIA'88 regulations, required. Minimum of 2 years of medical laboratory leadership experience is preferred. Previous experience in regulatory compliance and accreditation standards of the College of American Pathologists (CAP), The Joint Commission (TJC) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA). \n
Work Environment: This position will spend 60% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 40% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will be exposed to communicable disease and bodily fluids.
