\nPosition Summary
The role of the Manager of Patient Access reports to the Director of Patient Access. This position is responsible for managing the overall operations of Nursing Support Services, including House Supervisors, Bed control, Transport, and Patient Safety Sitters. This position is also responsible for managing patient throughput including optimization of the Teletracking system. This position will spend up to 75% of the time standing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing.

- Responsible for assisting the director with hiring, orienting, evaluating, and supervising the staff. \n
- Responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. \n
- Meets with staff, and administrative team on a regular basis to solve problems, improve quality and efficiency of patient care \n
- Evaluates personnel, maintaining financial compliance, record keeping and reporting and assists in achieving quality patient care, national patient safety goals and regulatory requirements. \n
- Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, patient families, physicians, employees, volunteers, community partners and vendors \n
- Strives to improve and facilitate patient care and satisfaction supported with evidenced based practices. \n
- Identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. \n
- Establishes and maintains department policies and procedures. \n
- Act as an advocate in representation of Washington Regional leadership \n
- Serves as a resource in clinical situations \n
- Expected to resolve problems that arise in the normal course of the work \n
- Evaluates, plans, and implements processes related to improved patient throughput \n
- Evaluates, plans, and implements process improvement activities aimed at meeting yearly departmental and organizational goals \n
- Receives formal and informal grievances and conducts preliminary discussions for settlement when necessary \n
- Issues disciplinary action for employees as necessary \n
- Performs full performance level professional nursing work and enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, reviewing current literature, in-service meetings, workshops, and research \n
- Ensures that services provided meet accrediting standards for the Joint Commission and other accrediting programs \n
Qualifications
Education: BSN required, MSN preferred
Licensure and Certifications: Unencumbered AR nursing license or ability to obtain, ACLS, BLS
Experience: 2 years of acute care experience required, previous leadership experience preferred
