\nPosition Summary
\nThe role of the Registered Nurse - Nurse Educator (RN) reports to the Director of Cardiovascular Services. This position is responsible for coordinating, developing, teaching, and evaluating education for the Cardiovascular Services Department. This position directly supervises the job classes on Registered Nurse, Nursing Assistants, and techs.

Essential Position Responsibilities

- Actively participate within the nursing leadership team to provide education strategies \n
- \n
- Design and create curriculum and education programs within the department in order to support and maintain patient care standards \n
- Create and implement training that enhances and standardizes workflow expectations within the department focusing on safety, quality, effectiveness, and efficiency \n
- Assess quality of care and services provided and develops education improvement plans, as necessary \n
- Ensure timely completion of initial and ongoing mandatory education \n
- Design education services by researching, developing, writing, and updating policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines in partnership with leadership team \n
- Ability to work one-on-one and in group settings to educate staff \n
- Develop a collaborative working relationship between the department and other system departments in order to monitor and improve on quality, timeliness, services and communication standards through education \n
- Ensure current policies and procedures and any changes are clearly communicated to staff and education is updated as needed \n
- Educate employees on departmental goals and objectives encouraging an engaged, positive staff dynamic \n
- Demonstrate an understanding of and supports the philosophy of patient-centered care \n
- Remain available to all staff, seeking opportunities to become actively involved, lend support, address problems, and suggest areas of improvement \n
Qualifications

- \nEducation: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program or graduate of an accredited radiology program \n
- \nLicensure and Certifications: Registered Nurse license or Radiology Tech license & CPR, required. ACLS within 90 days of hire, required. \n
- \nExperience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in an acute care nursing role, required. \n
Work Environment: This position will spend 90% of the time walking and/or standing while pushing, pulling, lifting, and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 10% of the time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will be exposed to communicable diseases, bodily fluids, and radiation. This position serves a cultural and linguistically diverse patient population.
