Position Title: Law Clerk Public Defender- Part Time

Department: Public Defender

Salary: $16

Workday & Hours: 20 hours a week

Job Summary:

Working in the Public Defender Office duties include:
-Prepare legal briefs and motions
-Assist clients with the arraignment process by reviewing their financial information andrights
-Process discovery into our online database
-Help with trial preparation and case investigation
Must be a rising 2nd year law student interested in a career in criminal law. Rule XV certified or eligible students preferred, but all are welcome to apply

Required Qualifications:

Must be able to pass a criminal background check, obtain and maintain federally mandated security clearances where required, this position is subject to pre-employment and reasonable suspicion testing and if a promotional position, candidate must pass an assignment drug test.
