What you'll do...
Role summary: As a Senior Manager, Operational Safety Programs, you will lead the development, implementation, governance, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide safety programs designed to prevent associate, customer, and third-party injuries. Serving as a subject matter expert in occupational safety and health, you will leverage deep knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry standards, regulatory compliance, safety management systems, and risk management principles to drive risk reduction across Walmart's diverse operations.What you'll do: In this role, you will lead and influence cross-functional teams across Operations, Asset Protection, Human Resources, Legal, Compliance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other business functions to develop, implement, and sustain effective safety programs and risk controls. You will partner with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to identify emerging risks, develop scalable solutions, and ensure consistent execution of enterprise safety strategies. Success in this position requires strong technical safety expertise, comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance obligations, exceptional technical writing and communication skills, advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to lead large-scale safety initiatives in complex operational environments. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing safety standards, policies, procedures, and governance frameworks, while effectively aligning diverse stakeholders around common safety objectives that protect associates, customers, third parties, and business operations.
What you'll bring:
- Deep expertise in occupational safety and health, including OSHA regulations, regulatory compliance, risk management, and safety management system (SMS) principles.
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and continuously improve enterprise-wide safety programs, standards, and risk controls.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational safety practices across retail, supply chain, manufacturing, or other complex operational environments.
- Exceptional technical writing and communication skills, with experience developing safety standards, policies, procedures, guidance documents, and governance frameworks.
- Strategic mindset capable of balancing business objectives, operational needs, regulatory obligations, and safety priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, identify trends and emerging risks, and develop practical, scalable solutions.
- Experience driving stakeholder alignment and navigating complex organizational challenges to achieve sustainable safety outcomes.
- Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills with the ability to lead multiple high-impact initiatives simultaneously.
- Professional safety certification preferred, including Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credentials.
- Working knowledge of recognized Safety Management Systems frameworks such as ANSI Z10, ISO 45001, or equivalent enterprise risk management systems

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

3 years’ experience using intermediate functionality of Microsoft Office
