Role summary:
The (USA) Manager, Sourcing leads strategic sourcing initiatives by developing and maintaining supplier relationships, ensuring product quality, and managing on-time delivery. This role collaborates cross-functionally to align sourcing strategies with business objectives, negotiates pricing and terms, and mitigates risks while driving cost savings. The manager oversees supplier performance, conducts assessments, and mentors team members to enhance sourcing capabilities. By leveraging market knowledge and digital tools, this position supports continuous improvement and operational excellence, contributing to Walmart’s commitment to delivering value and meeting customer needs effectively.
About the team:
Our team manages sourcing for the Home Decor private brand business across WMUS and WMCA, focusing on delivering optimal cost solutions across Good, Better, and Best product ranges. This role specifically oversees sourcing for Candles, Incense, and Flameless Fragrance categories, managing approximately 13 suppliers with a business scope exceeding $500M. The team supports both Direct Order and Direct Import channels, ensuring supplier performance, quality, and timely delivery. Collaborating closely with cross-functional partners, the team drives strategic sourcing initiatives to meet business objectives while maintaining strong supplier relationships and accountability.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with business objectives and product specifications.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including assessments, performance monitoring, and capacity evaluations.
  • Negotiate pricing and contract terms to optimize cost savings while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with retail teams, merchandise quality engineers, and global supply management to support sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead sourcing projects, mentor team members, and promote continuous learning and process improvements.
  • Monitor factory capabilities and address production or quality issues proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and ethical standards throughout sourcing activities.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management to optimize procurement processes.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to develop cost-effective sourcing solutions and alternatives.
  • Experience in supplier quality and performance management, including conducting assessments and factory visits.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and manage stakeholder relationships to align sourcing strategies with business goals.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team members while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Adaptability to evolving market conditions and trade issues, applying innovative digital tools and new ways of working.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related area and 3 years’ experience in sourcing OR 5 years’ experience in sourcing, Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related areas.
Bilingual in English and one or more language used to transact business in assigned country.
Project Management certification.
