Role summary:
The (USA) Manager, Sourcing leads strategic sourcing initiatives by managing supplier relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring product quality and timely delivery. This role collaborates cross-functionally with retail teams and global partners to align sourcing strategies with business objectives while mitigating risks and optimizing costs. The manager oversees supplier assessments, factory capabilities, and capacity planning, providing guidance to team members and driving continuous improvement through digital tools and innovative practices. This position requires strong stakeholder management and a comprehensive understanding of supply chain dynamics to support Walmart’s operational goals effectively.
About the team:
The sourcing team manages a strategic supplier matrix for the Bed and Bath categories, supporting both short- and long-term business growth. They collaborate closely with retail and supply partners to align sourcing strategies, ensure supplier quality, and optimize performance. The team conducts supplier assessments, negotiates terms, and addresses production and pricing challenges. By leveraging market knowledge and cross-functional partnerships, they deliver effective sourcing solutions that balance risk and profitability. Continuous improvement, coaching, and adherence to company standards are integral to their approach, driving value and operational excellence across the supply chain.
What you'll do:
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with retail team objectives and category goals.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including assessments, performance monitoring, and capacity evaluations.
  • Negotiate pricing, product specifications, and delivery terms to optimize cost and quality.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with business partners and Global Supply Management to support sourcing initiatives.
  • Lead factory visits to assess production capabilities and ensure on-time delivery and quality standards.
  • Mentor and guide team members in sourcing activities and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Apply market knowledge and digital tools to enhance strategic sourcing and procurement processes.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management within complex supply chains.
  • Strong negotiation skills to achieve cost savings and favorable terms while maintaining quality and delivery standards.
  • Ability to assess supplier capabilities, conduct factory visits, and manage supplier performance effectively.
  • Expertise in collaborating cross-functionally to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
  • Demonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing team members in sourcing activities.
  • Knowledge of trade, political issues, and market dynamics impacting sourcing decisions.
  • Proficiency in optimizing procurement processes and applying digital tools to enhance sourcing efficiency.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related area and 3 years’ experience in sourcing OR 5 years’ experience in sourcing, Business, Merchandising, Supply Chain or related areas.
Bilingual in English and one or more language used to transact business in assigned country.
Project Management certification.
