As a Staff Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable platform capabilities, driving full lifecycle software development with a focus on cloud-native architecture and AI/ML integration. Our team enhances transportation execution within the supply chain by enabling efficient load creation, tendering, and automation for Fleet and third-party carriers. We develop scalable, reliable software solutions that improve operational efficiency and support omnichannel growth. Leveraging technology and process innovation, the team drives cost optimization, increased visibility, and faster execution. Collaboration, continuous improvement, technical expertise, and a product-focused approach are central to delivering excellence. What you'll do:

• Deliver platform capabilities including infrastructure, tooling, and ML frameworks aligned with roadmap milestones.
• Apply cloud-native architecture principles to ensure scalable, resilient, and agile systems.
• Lead full software development lifecycle activities including coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Conduct system design reviews to validate quality and alignment with architectural standards.
• Build AI-driven applications integrating ML components and automation features.
• Mentor engineers, influence technical decisions, and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into actionable technical requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement through data-driven practices and innovation.

What you'll bring:

• Proven expertise in cloud-native architecture, including microservices, containers, and automation to build scalable and resilient systems.
• Strong software development skills across the full lifecycle, including coding, testing, CI/CD deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience in platform engineering, infrastructure, tooling, and AI/ML integration using languages such as JavaScript, Python, Java, or C++.
• Ability to conduct system design reviews and apply software design patterns for secure, maintainable, and modular solutions.
• Demonstrated leadership in mentoring engineers and influencing technical decisions to ensure quality and sustainability.
• Proficient in data-driven decision making, problem solving, debugging, and requirements analysis.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
