What you'll do...

Role summary:
As a Staff Systems and Infrastructure Engineer in Information Security, you will design and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure solutions aligned with business and technical requirements. This role involves analyzing system performance, implementing security standards, and automating processes to enhance operational efficiency. You will collaborate across teams to ensure compliance with risk management frameworks and support infrastructure growth plans. Your expertise will drive the development of resilient systems that meet reliability, performance, and security objectives, contributing to Walmart’s commitment to robust and secure technology environments.
About the team:
The team focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable cryptographic infrastructure aligned with enterprise goals. It leads modernization of Public Key Infrastructure, Hardware Security Modules, and certificate lifecycle management across on-premises and cloud environments. Collaborating with security, infrastructure, networking, and application teams, the group prioritizes automation, operational efficiency, and compliance with security standards. Members develop innovative solutions to ensure high availability and reliability of cryptographic services while mentoring peers and driving continuous improvements in infrastructure security and automation practices.
What you'll do:
  • Design and develop scalable, secure infrastructure solutions aligned with business and security requirements.
  • Analyze system performance and nonfunctional requirements to ensure reliability, efficiency, and security.
  • Implement and maintain security controls, risk management frameworks, and compliance standards across IT infrastructure.
  • Automate operational processes to enhance response times and reduce manual interventions.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of system designs to ensure adherence to security policies and industry standards.
  • Monitor infrastructure capacity and plan for future growth to meet evolving business needs.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for deployments, processes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate security risks and vulnerabilities.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven expertise in security controls, risk management frameworks, and infrastructure security principles.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including public key infrastructure and cryptography standards such as PKCS.
  • Experience with hardware security modules and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Ability to design scalable, modular, and secure system architectures aligned with business and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting to enhance operational efficiency and incident response.
  • Skilled in configuration management, capacity planning, and infrastructure performance optimization.
  • Demonstrated capability to analyze risks, conduct security reviews, and implement mitigation strategies.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, information systems, cybersecurity, or related area and 4years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Option 2: 6 years’ experience in systems and infrastructure engineering or related area at a technology, retail, or data-driven company.

Certification in Security+, GISF, CISSP, CCSP, or GSEC, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related area and 2 years’ experience leading information security or cybersecurity projects, We value candidates with a background in creating inclusive digital experiences, demonstrating knowledge in implementing Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and integrating digital accessibility seamlessly.
