What you'll do...
Role summary:The (USA) Counsel - eCommerce will provide comprehensive legal guidance to support business objectives, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves assessing and managing legal risks, advising on corporate governance, and collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to resolve legal matters effectively. The position requires drafting and reviewing contracts, supporting business transactions, and delivering training on legal compliance. The Counsel will also contribute to policy development, oversee investigations, and promote ethical standards, fostering strong partnerships across the organization to facilitate informed decision-making and drive operational success.

Our team serves as a strategic partner to the eCommerce business, supporting digital commerce objectives while managing legal and regulatory risks. We provide expert guidance on business strategies, commercial transactions, platform partnerships, and technology vendor agreements. Collaborating with specialists in privacy, data, compliance, and intellectual property, we deliver comprehensive legal support. Focused on corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance, the team leads cross-functional initiatives and risk mitigation efforts aligned with business goals, ensuring sound legal frameworks that enable growth and innovation within the digital commerce environment.
What you'll do:
- Provide legal advice and counsel to business partners, particularly those focused on site and shopping experience, ensuring informed decision-making aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, supporting risk mitigation and regulatory adherence.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents to support business transactions and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel to manage legal matters and resolve issues efficiently.
- Develop and deliver training on legal compliance and corporate governance standards.
- Supervise and mentor associates, fostering professional development and performance excellence.
- Conduct legal research, investigations, and monitor legislative changes impacting the company.
What you'll bring:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree with admission to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Extensive experience providing legal counsel on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Proven ability to draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts and legal documents.
- Strong skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating legal risks in a business context.
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and external counsel.
- Ability to interpret and apply federal, state, and local laws and regulations effectively.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing legal matters and supporting business initiatives with strategic guidance.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
