What you'll do...
Role summary:As (USA) Counsel - eCommerce, you will provide strategic legal guidance to support business objectives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role involves managing risk, overseeing corporate governance, and collaborating with internal teams and external counsel to resolve legal matters effectively. You will draft and review legal documents, advise on regulatory requirements, and contribute to business strategy development. The position requires strong leadership in mentoring associates and fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement to support Walmart’s commitment to ethical and operational excellence.
About the team:
Our team acts as a strategic partner to the eCommerce business, supporting digital commerce goals while managing legal and regulatory risks. We provide guidance on legal aspects of business strategies, assist in developing new business models and digital channels, and offer practical advice on commercial transactions, platform partnerships, technology vendor agreements, and consumer experiences. Collaborating with experts in privacy, data, compliance, and intellectual property, we ensure comprehensive legal support. The team’s focus on corporate governance, risk management, and regulatory compliance enables effective cross-functional leadership and risk mitigation aligned with business objectives.
What you'll do:
- Provide legal advice and counsel to business partners, particularly those focused on front-end fulfillment services, ensuring informed decision-making aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, supporting risk mitigation and regulatory adherence.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents to support business transactions and initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external counsel to manage legal matters and resolve issues efficiently.
- Develop and deliver training on legal compliance and corporate governance standards.
- Oversee corporate governance processes and maintain awareness of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Lead investigations, legal research, and reporting to support business strategies and operational performance.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management to support business objectives.
- Strong ability to provide clear legal counsel and guidance on complex legal matters and business strategies.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts and legal documents with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated skill in leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate legal risks while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local laws.
- Effective communication and training capabilities to promote compliance and ethical standards.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
