You will define how Walmart’s AI shopping assistant can support discovery, basket building, product questions, cart actions, checkout readiness, and post-purchase use cases in flexible environments. This is a highly strategic platform role that requires product depth across AI, eCommerce, identity, payments, trust, fraud, partner integrations, and customer experience.
About the team:
The AI Shopping team leads strategic AI initiatives to drive innovation and market growth. It collaborates with external partners including OpenAI and Google, and across internal functions to develop product roadmaps, execute go-to-market strategies, and manage stakeholder relationships effectively.
What you'll do:
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and execution for AI shopping assistant capabilities that can be integrated into external or partner-enabled agentic experiences.
- Define the core capabilities required for an agent-to-agent architecture that helps customers discover products, build baskets, refine choices, and move toward purchase in a trusted way.
- Create scalable product requirements for assistant-driven shopping experiences, including product search, recommendations, basket creation, item modifications, product Q&A, fulfillment context, and checkout handoff.
- Partner closely with engineering, design, data science, platform, ecommerce, payments, fraud, identity, legal, privacy, security, customer care, and business development teams.
- Build product guardrails for what AI assistants can do on behalf of customers, including cart changes, purchase readiness, payment, order management, and customer consent.
- Define user experiences that support both new and returning customers, balancing low-friction entry with personalization, account linking, membership recognition, and trust.
- Lead product development for APIs, tools, MCP servers, permissions, and integration patterns that allow Walmart agentic commerce capabilities to work reliably across multiple environments.
- Develop instrumentation to measure adoption, activation, engagement, basket creation, conversion, failure rates, latency, customer satisfaction, and partner performance.
- Create reusable playbooks and standards so future integrations can launch faster, more safely, and with consistent customer experience quality.
- Collaborate with partner-facing and platform teams to evaluate integration opportunities, prioritize capabilities, and scale learnings across the broader commerce ecosystem.
What you'll bring:
- 15+ years of product management experience, with experience in ecommerce, AI products, platform products, partner integrations, marketplace, payments, identity, or consumer technology.
- Strong understanding of ecommerce customer journeys, including discovery, product detail, cart, checkout, fulfillment, account, and post-purchase experiences.
- Experience building platform capabilities, APIs, MCP servers, partner integrations, or reusable product infrastructure.
- Ability to define product requirements for complex systems involving AI models, customer-facing UX, backend services, data flows, security, and operational controls.
- Strong product judgment around customer trust, safety, privacy, consent, reliability, and risk.
- Experience leading cross-functional initiatives with engineering, design, analytics, legal, privacy, security, payments, fraud, and business stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills and experience defining product metrics, funnel measurement, experimentation plans, and operational dashboards.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex technical and strategic topics for executive and cross-functional audiences.
- Experience with conversational AI, AI agents, large language models, recommendation systems, search, or personalization.
- Experience with commerce platforms, embedded experiences, account linking, payments, fraud prevention, or third-party integrations.
- Experience defining governance models for automated or semi-automated customer actions.
- Experience launching products in highly regulated or high-trust environments.
- Experience building zero-to-one products where technical architecture, customer experience, and business model are evolving together.
