What you'll do...
Role summary:As a Merchant, you will lead category strategy development and execution for a moderately complex category, driving financial performance and channel alignment. This role requires analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and competitive dynamics to inform pricing, promotion, and assortment decisions on Frozen Fruit, Frozen Vegetables, Frozen Potatoes, and Ice. You will manage supplier relationships, oversee team performance, and support operational initiatives to enhance customer experience across channels. Leveraging data insights, you will influence business plans and ensure alignment with company objectives while fostering a high-performing team environment focused on continuous improvement and integrity.

The team leads the growth and transformation of Frozen Food category by delivering innovative, health-conscious products that emphasize quality, value, and convenience. They focus on advancing category performance, increasing member engagement, and supporting sustainable growth. Utilizing strong category strategy, financial management, and supplier collaboration, the team drives business plans and adapts to market trends. They foster a results-oriented environment that encourages continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and effective team management to meet evolving customer needs and achieve long-term success.
What you'll do:
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with long-term business objectives and market trends.
- Manage profit and loss responsibilities, including pricing, promotions, and inventory decisions to meet financial targets.
- Lead supplier negotiations, establish performance metrics, and oversee supplier relationships to ensure category profitability.
- Drive channel strategy decisions and collaborate with supply chain to optimize product availability and customer experience.
- Guide team performance through coaching, development, and clear communication of priorities and expectations.
- Utilize data analysis to inform decisions, improve category performance, and support digital initiatives.
- Oversee item setup, modular assortment, and feature execution across store and online channels.
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in category and channel strategy development with the ability to execute strategic initiatives effectively.
- Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership, budgeting, and forecasting for moderately complex categories.
- Expertise in supplier management, negotiation, and performance tracking to drive price leadership and profitability.
- Ability to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to inform decision-making.
- Demonstrated team management capabilities, including coaching, performance evaluation, and fostering engagement.
- Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to influence business strategies and optimize category performance.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
