Role summary:
The Senior Manager, Strategy - Shows and Events, leads the development and execution of strategic initiatives for key corporate events, collaborating across business units to align objectives and resources. This role drives transformational change from concept through implementation, ensuring effective project management and sustainable processes. By fostering strong stakeholder relationships and overseeing cross-functional teams, the position ensures consistent messaging and successful delivery of high-impact events. The role also emphasizes talent development, accountability, and continuous improvement to support Walmart’s mission and operational excellence.
About the team:
The Events team leads the vision, strategy, and execution of Sam’s Club’s MAP Internal, B2B, and B2C events, ensuring every experience aligns with the mission to enhance customer and member engagement. This team manages marquee industry events such as Cannes Lions, CES, and NRF, transforming them into platforms for business growth. They drive executive thought leadership, sales engagement, and brand visibility through strategic planning and flawless execution. The team collaborates cross-functionally to deliver impactful experiences that support measurable business outcomes and strengthen brand relationships across the retail experience network.
What you'll do:
  • Own the annual strategy and investment recommendations for Sam's Club Connect's participation in key industry events, including Cannes Lions, CES, NRF, and other strategic forums.
  • Evaluate sponsorships, partnerships, activations, and executive engagement opportunities to maximize business impact, thought leadership, and advertiser growth.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to develop client engagement strategies, executive meeting plans, and event playbooks that drive business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Executive Leadership, Corporate Communications, and Marketing to shape event narratives and industry presence.
  • Lead end-to-end planning and execution of events and sponsorships.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment and measure performance to optimize ROI, engagement, and pipeline impact.

What you'll bring:
  • 6–8+ years of experience in experiential marketing, event strategy, integrated marketing, sales enablement, or related disciplines.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale industry event programs such as Cannes Lions, CES, NRF, or similar marquee industry events.
  • Strong track record of managing complex cross-functional initiatives and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience developing executive engagement programs and thought leadership opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to create sales engagement strategies that drive measurable business outcomes.
  • Strong project management, budget management, and vendor management experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly matrixed environments.

San Bruno, California US-08848: The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00 - $234,000.00
BENTONVILLE, Arkansas US-10929: The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
