About the team:
The team leads Applied Science initiatives for Last Mile Delivery at Walmart, focusing on optimizing routing, trip pricing, driver trip matching, delivery commitments, and capacity management. They ensure platform trust and safety by leveraging advanced data strategies and machine learning techniques. Collaborating with stakeholders, the team develops innovative solutions that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. Their expertise includes predictive analytics, data strategy, and machine learning, enabling scalable, data-driven outcomes that support Walmart’s commitment to reliable and efficient last mile delivery services.
What you'll do:
- Identify and source relevant data from multiple business domains, ensuring data quality and fitness for purpose.
- Develop and implement data strategies aligned with business objectives to unlock value from data assets.
- Design, test, and validate predictive models using advanced statistical and machine learning techniques.
- Create clear and impactful data visualizations to communicate insights to stakeholders effectively.
- Translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions and guide model deployment and scaling.
- Write, test, and maintain code for data science applications, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.
- Mentor team members on analytical methods, modeling techniques, and best practices.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in predictive analytics, machine learning algorithms, and data science methodologies.
- Proficiency in Python programming and advanced data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Plotly, and Tableau.
- Strong understanding of data strategy, including data quality standards, governance, and scalable data ecosystems.
- Experience in model assessment, validation, and deployment using best practices and relevant evaluation metrics.
- Ability to translate complex business problems into data-driven solutions with knowledge of functional business domains.
- Skilled in exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and advanced statistical modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with database technologies including SQL and NoSQL systems.
