The Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting regulatory compliance for Walmart, including international markets. This position will collaborate with teams across tax, finance, merchandizing, merchandize vendors, compliance, technology and business operations to ensure accurate regulatory compliance reporting, support strategic tax initiatives, maintain compliance with state/ provincial regulations, and drive operational excellence through effective partnerships and continuous improvement. What you'll do:
  • Prepare and manage low- to medium-complexity state/ provincial regulatory compliance/ tax reporting, doing low to medium complex calculations, gather information from various sources, and support timely filing and reporting.
  • Gather, analyze, and incorporate data into tax/ statutory returns, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
  • Conduct research, perform technical analysis, and develop supporting memoranda and presentation materials for planning initiatives.
  • Read and understand various state, provincial, and federal regulatory compliance requirements and update processes as needed
  • Support regulatory compliance planning projects by analyzing business transactions and assisting with the development of planning strategies.
  • Respond to notices, information requests, and audit inquiries while ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Facilitate audit documentation, maintain records, create reports, and support federal, state, and international audit activities.
  • Identify and support opportunities related to credits, refunds, and process improvements.
  • Develop and facilitate training sessions, maintain training materials, and provide mentoring and guidance to team members.
  • Build partnerships with internal stakeholders to support business needs and implement effective solutions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying efficiencies and enhancing compliance processes.
What you'll bring:
  • Experience preparing and supporting regulatory compliance and related reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial/ compliance information and perform research.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, audit support, and planning principles.
  • Experience using custom software and Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience building relationships and partnering with cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Corporate tax/ compliance experience supporting federal and state regulatory compliance.
  • Experience supporting audit activities and regulatory compliance planning initiatives.
  • Training, mentoring, or knowledge-sharing experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
