What you'll do...
Walmart Marketplace is seeking a Director, Catalog Intelligence & Integrity to define and drive the business strategy for seller-facing catalog intelligence capabilities across Walmart's global marketplaces.This role will serve as the business owner for how catalog intelligence is applied to improve assortment quality, seller performance, marketplace integrity, and customer experience. Working across Catalog, Marketplace & Seller Experience, Product, Data Science, Seller Risk, and Compliance organizations, this leader will identify seller pain points, define business opportunities, establish success metrics, and ensure catalog intelligence capabilities translate into measurable business outcomes.
As Walmart invests in advanced catalog intelligence, recommendation systems, and AI-powered capabilities, this role will help transform seller decision-making from intuition-based to insight-driven. The leader will ensure sellers receive trusted, actionable guidance that helps them improve assortment quality, customer engagement, discoverability, and business performance while maintaining the standards necessary to support a healthy marketplace.
This role will also help define how sellers leverage assortment and merchandising levers to drive growth on Walmart Marketplace. This leader will ensure catalog intelligence capabilities provide sellers with actionable recommendations that improve discoverability, customer engagement, conversion, and inventory productivity.
A key responsibility of this role will be balancing marketplace growth with marketplace quality. This leader will define the business strategies, governance frameworks, and performance measures that guide sellers toward better assortment decisions while promoting catalog quality, conformity, compliance, and integrity.
What You'll Do
CATALOG INTELLIGENCE & BUSINESS STRATEGY• Define the business strategy for seller-facing catalog intelligence capabilities across Walmart Marketplace.
• Identify seller pain points, marketplace opportunities, and operational challenges that can be addressed through recommendations, automation, and catalog intelligence.
• Serve as the voice of the seller, ensuring business needs and marketplace insights inform Catalog, Product, and Seller Experience priorities.
• Establish business goals, success metrics, and KPI frameworks tied to seller adoption, catalog quality, customer engagement, and marketplace growth.
• Develop business cases, opportunity sizing, and strategic recommendations that guide investment and prioritization decisions.
• Define business strategies that help sellers optimize assortment, merchandising, and catalog performance through data-backed recommendations, insights, and guidance.
• Identify opportunities to improve seller outcomes through intelligent use of assortment and merchandising levers aligned with customer behavior and marketplace performance.
GOVERNANCE, INTEGRITY & STANDARDS
• Define the business strategy for catalog integrity, quality, conformity, and compliance across Walmart Marketplace.
• Partner with Seller Risk, Seller Performance, Catalog, and Compliance teams to establish governance frameworks, standards, and accountability mechanisms that promote healthy marketplace behavior.
• Ensure catalog intelligence signals—including defects, quality issues, compliance risks, duplicate items, mismatches, and other integrity concerns—are translated into clear seller guidance and actionable remediation paths.
• Drive the evolution of defect management capabilities that transform catalog issues into understandable insights, recommendations, and educational experiences for sellers.
• Define quality standards and measurement frameworks that ensure assortment and merchandising actions contribute positively to customer experience, discoverability, and marketplace health.
• Establish measurement frameworks that evaluate catalog health, seller quality performance, and customer experience outcomes.
ACTIVATION, ADOPTION & OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE
• Define activation and adoption strategies that drive measurable value from catalog intelligence capabilities and seller-facing experiences.
• Partner with Seller Experience, Product, and Operations teams to ensure recommendations, quality programs, and guidance mechanisms are intuitive, scalable, and trusted by sellers.
• Lead pilot programs, experimentation efforts, and launch readiness activities to validate business impact before broader deployment.
• Own ongoing performance reviews, business health reporting, and post-launch assessments to ensure programs achieve intended outcomes.
• Identify operational gaps, emerging risks, and opportunities for continuous improvement across marketplace processes and seller experiences.
• Drive executive visibility into business performance, adoption trends, quality outcomes, and marketplace health metrics.
What You'll Bring
• Deep expertise in eCommerce, marketplace operations, catalog management, merchandising, business operations, product strategy, or related disciplines.• Strong understanding of catalog data, assortment optimization, merchandising principles, quality standards, seller workflows, and marketplace ecosystems.
• Experience defining business strategies, operating models, governance frameworks, and performance metrics that drive measurable outcomes.
• Proven ability to translate complex data, operational challenges, and technology capabilities into actionable business strategies.
• Experience partnering effectively with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Risk, Compliance, and Operations organizations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to connect seller behavior, catalog quality, customer experience, and business performance.
• Experience leading large-scale transformation initiatives in complex, cross-functional environments.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and drive alignment across organizations.

Sunnyvale, California US-11789: The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
