Position Summary...

What you'll do...

The most senior IC product role in the organization. Drives enterprise-wide product strategy, shapes organizational capability, and influences Walmart's competitive positioning through pioneering product thinking. Owns multiple complex customer problems and product lines by integrating market trends, competitive dynamics, customer segments, and business strategies. Creates strategic frameworks including Whole Product concepts and go-to-market approaches that drive mass adoption and enterprise value creation. Equivalent in scope and impact to Director, Product Management on the People Leader track.

Customer & Problem Leadership:
Drives a culture of deep customer understanding across the enterprise using design thinking, journey mapping, and process optimization to uncover complex problems across multiple domains.
Establishes mechanisms and standards that enable the organization to consistently identify, validate, and prioritize unmet needs at enterprise scale.
Shapes enterprise product priorities through proprietary customer intelligence, forward-looking market analysis, and structured opportunity-sizing frameworks.

Product Vision & Strategy:
Owns the long-term vision and strategy for multiple complex customer problems and product lines by integrating market trends, competitive dynamics, customer segments, and business strategies.
Creates strategic frameworks—including Whole Product concepts, go-to-market approaches, and validation guidelines at product, problem, and user levels—to drive mass adoption and enterprise value creation.
Sets the strategic direction that influences adjacent product families, platform investments, and organizational capability priorities.
Shapes Walmart's external product narrative through industry engagement, thought leadership, and competitive positioning.

Product Lifecycle & Execution Governance:
Leads roadmaps for multiple complex products or product families, aligning with overall business strategy, addressing external and market constraints, and ensuring compliance and ethical standards.
Oversees MVP design, rollout, and scaling processes; updates product management practices to clarify expectations and improve consistency across the enterprise.
Establishes product operating rhythms, governance frameworks, and quality standards adopted organization-wide.

Data, AI & Technology Direction:
Guides advanced analytics and data-driven decisions by defining expectations for insight extraction, selecting tools and techniques, and driving product analytics that influence major enterprise decisions.
Leads adoption of emerging technologies and architectural choices by assessing technology landscapes, forecasting trends, and collaborating with engineering to manage technical debt and risk.
Champions responsible AI adoption across the product portfolio; assesses feasibility, risk, and ethical implications of AI-powered product capabilities.

Enterprise Influence & Organizational Impact:
Influences C-suite and senior stakeholders across functions using fact-based narratives, emotional intelligence, and strong communication to align on complex, ambiguous decisions.
Provides enterprise-level domain leadership by identifying innovation opportunities, guiding new processes and automation, and mentoring others to build long-term capability.
Shapes the product management discipline at Walmart; defines best practices, career frameworks, and competency standards adopted across the organization.

Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.

Develops and implements strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; and leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.

Cultivates an environment where associates respect and adhere to company standards of integrity and ethics by integrating these values into all programs and practices; developing consequences for violations or non-compliance; and supporting the Open Door Policy.

Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives; and supporting associate efforts in these areas. Bentonville, Arkansas US-30008: The annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $260,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
