Role summary:As a Senior Software Engineer at Walmart, you will lead the delivery of scalable, high-quality software solutions by collaborating with cross-functional teams. About the team:
The IPT team develops and supports platforms for GNFR sourcing, contracting, and procurement using Agile methodology. They deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions aligned with business and technical goals. The team collaborates to analyze requirements, design software, and implement efficient, secure code while maintaining performance standards. Emphasizing continuous improvement, members apply project management and software architecture expertise to drive innovation. By fostering strong stakeholder partnerships and adhering to best practices, the IPT team plays a vital role in Walmart’s operational excellence and commitment to reliable technology platforms.
What you'll do:
- Own scoped feature and model delivery through collaborative engineering teams, managing implementation, iteration, testing, and support.
- Write clean, efficient, and reliable code across multiple languages, driving full software development lifecycle including CI/CD and automated testing.
- Integrate AI and ML components to enhance software intelligence and leverage generative AI tools to improve development velocity.
- Assist in converting high-level designs into detailed, scalable, and maintainable solutions aligned with platform objectives.
- Conduct code reviews, debugging, and defect management.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and measurable outcomes.
- Monitor application performance and support continuous integration and delivery practices.
- Mentor peers and contribute to engineering best practices.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in software development with proficiency in languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Java, Rust, Dart, and C++.
- Strong expertise in object-oriented programming, code review, debugging, and documentation-based coding practices.
- Proven ability to deliver scoped features and models through collaborative, iterative development and continuous integration.
- Demonstrated skills in AI/ML integration and leveraging generative AI tools to enhance development efficiency.
- Solid understanding of platform design, product strategy, and technical leadership in scalable, maintainable software solutions.
- Commitment to engineering excellence, continuous improvement, and effective cross-team collaboration.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
