What you'll do...
Role summary:The Senior Manager, Communications, leads the development and execution of strategic global communication plans by collaborating with senior leaders and cross-functional teams. This role advises on effective communication methods, manages distribution, and ensures initiatives meet intended outcomes. The position drives innovation by integrating industry best practices and continuously improving processes. It evaluates communication effectiveness through metrics and benchmarking while supporting business goals. The Senior Manager also provides leadership and development for associates, fosters collaboration, and upholds company values to promote a high-performing and ethical work environment.
About the team:
The Walmart U.S. End-to-End External Communications team delivers comprehensive stories about Walmart’s operations, spanning supply chain, transportation, Real Estate, and Energy networks to the final associate and customer experience. Collaborating with leadership, the team manages complex media inquiries, leads national campaigns, and shares compelling human-interest stories. They oversee critical issues and monitor competitive intelligence to ensure accurate messaging. By engaging media, customers, and internal platforms, the team upholds Walmart’s commitment to transparency and operational excellence, building trust and safeguarding the company’s national reputation through strategic and proactive communication efforts.
What you'll do:
- Develop and implement strategic global communication plans in collaboration with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
- Advise leadership on effective communication methods to support company initiatives and priorities.
- Oversee the creation, review, and distribution of communication materials aligned with global strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness using established metrics and benchmarks, identifying improvement opportunities.
- Lead and mentor communication team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Drive innovation by integrating industry best practices and new communication approaches.
- Manage multiple projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timely execution.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in developing and executing strategic global communication plans aligned with business objectives.
- Proven ability to counsel senior leaders and influence cross-functional teams to achieve communication goals.
- Strong skills in drafting, reviewing, and editing high-impact communications for a variety of audiences.
- Expertise in evaluating communication effectiveness through metrics, benchmarking, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated leadership in mentoring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while driving innovation and process enhancements.
- Commitment to integrity, ethical standards, and fostering collaborative relationships across the organization.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or related field and 4 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area OR 6 years’ experience in corporate communications, public relations, or relevant area.1 year’s supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.
