Role summary:The Senior Manager, Automation Engineering leads the design, integration, and continuous improvement of automation systems within supply chain operations. About the team:
The Ambient First Mile Automation team develops and implements upstream solutions to efficiently integrate volume into the Walmart Supply Chain. This team leverages data analysis, automation, and process improvement to enhance operational excellence and strategy execution. Collaborating across functions, the team drives technology adoption and continuous improvement initiatives. Members apply project management and business case analysis skills to deliver impactful automation designs and integrations. The team is committed to advancing supply chain performance through innovative solutions and effective partnership, ensuring alignment with Walmart’s operational goals and long-term business strategy.
What you'll do:
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of automation systems to enhance operational efficiency and process improvement.
- Utilize data analysis tools to explore complex data, develop insights, and influence strategic decisions.
- Manage project timelines, risks, and resources to ensure successful delivery of automation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation solutions and optimize supply chain workflows.
- Develop business cases and financial analyses to support automation investments and measure return on investment.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying obstacles and recommending scalable solutions aligned with operational goals.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to present findings, progress, and recommendations.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in automation system design, integration, and troubleshooting within complex operational environments.
- Strong data analysis skills with the ability to develop insights and influence strategic decisions using visualization tools.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities, including risk identification, contingency planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience driving process improvements and operational excellence through continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to develop and present business cases evaluating financial impacts and return on investment for automation initiatives.
- Effective communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and present complex information clearly.
- Knowledge of mechatronics, electrical design concepts, and supply chain automation technologies.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field and 4 years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area. Option 2: 6years’ experience in Engineering, supply chain, or a related area.
2 years’ supervisory experience.
