Senior Merchant – Diapers About the Role As a Senior Merchant – Diapers, you will own the strategic direction and performance of a strategic category within Walmart's Baby business. You will develop and execute long-term omni-channel category strategies that drive growth, accelerate digital performance, strengthen Walmart's value proposition, and enhance the customer experience wherever and however customers choose to shop. This role requires balancing financial performance, assortment, pricing, inventory, and channel-specific opportunities while leading complex supplier partnerships and identifying new avenues for innovation and growth. You will leverage customer insights, market trends, and business analytics to inform decisions, influence cross-functional priorities, and drive execution across stores and digital platforms. Your leadership will support operational excellence, continuous improvement, and the delivery of sustainable business results aligned with Walmart's long-term objectives. About the Team The Baby merchandising team is focused on helping families find the products they need with the quality, value, and convenience they expect from Walmart. Through close partnership with suppliers and cross-functional teams, the group works to deliver an assortment that meets evolving customer needs while supporting a seamless omni-channel shopping experience. The team embraces innovation, customer insights, and data-driven decision making to improve how customers discover, shop, and engage with the category across physical and digital channels, creating meaningful business impact across the Baby portfolio. What You'll Do- Develop and execute omni-channel category strategies that align with long-term business objectives, customer needs, and growth opportunities across physical and digital channels.
- Manage profit and loss responsibilities, including financial forecasting, budgeting, inventory, and investment decisions to achieve business objectives.
- Lead strategic supplier partnerships, negotiations, and performance management to drive innovation, competitive pricing, quality, and category growth.
- Analyze customer insights, market trends, competitive dynamics, and digital shopping behaviors to inform pricing, promotions, assortment, and merchandising decisions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align merchandising, supply chain, eCommerce, marketing, and operational strategies for effective execution.
- Utilize data insights, analytics, and digital capabilities to drive continuous improvement, innovation, and enhanced customer experiences.
- Lead annual and long-range category planning to identify growth opportunities and support enterprise priorities.
- Proven expertise in category management, including strategy development and execution for complex retail or consumer product categories.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing profit and loss, budgeting, forecasting, inventory, and business planning.
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead strategic supplier partnerships and negotiations that drive innovation, growth, and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication, decision-making, and influencing skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams and stakeholders around common objectives.
- Proficiency in merchandising, retail operations, and leveraging customer insights, market trends, and data analysis to inform business decisions.
- Experience developing and executing strategies that enhance customer experience and drive growth across omni-channel environments.
- Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and deliver results in a highly matrixed organization

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
