Walmart’s Penetration Testing team safeguards the technology behind the world’s largest retailer by proactively identifying and validating security vulnerabilities. The team performs comprehensive security assessments across cloud platforms, applications, APIs, mobile solutions, IoT devices, hardware, firmware, and enterprise systems. By delivering actionable recommendations, the team strengthens Walmart’s security posture. Combining advanced technical expertise with effective collaboration and communication, the team ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems supporting millions of customers and associates globally. This role requires skills in penetration testing, security controls, vulnerability management, cyber security, and secure coding.
What you'll do:
- Conduct comprehensive penetration testing engagements to identify and assess security vulnerabilities across systems and networks.
- Evaluate security controls using established cybersecurity principles and frameworks to validate their effectiveness.
- Recommend prioritized remediation and mitigation strategies based on risk severity and business impact.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze technical requirements and support cyber risk management initiatives.
- Maintain detailed documentation of testing results, network performance metrics, and security assessments.
- Assist in designing secure network and infrastructure components aligned with industry standards and organizational needs.
- Stay current with emerging cyber threats and contribute to continuous improvement of security practices.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in penetration testing, including security testing techniques and vulnerability identification.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and risk management methodologies.
- Experience assessing security controls and recommending mitigation strategies based on risk severity.
- Proficiency with scripting, operating systems, networking, and cloud computing environments.
- Ability to analyze business and technical requirements to define testing scopes and priorities.
- Familiarity with secure coding standards and vulnerability management practices.
- Effective collaboration skills to engage with stakeholders and support cyber risk management initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
