Role summary:

The (USA) Case Manager II, Claims Management, is responsible for managing mid-complexity workers’ compensation and general liability claims throughout the claim lifecycle. This role involves reviewing claim reports, determining compensability, authorizing medical treatment, and adjudicating claims within financial authority limits. The position requires effective communication with stakeholders to facilitate timely resolutions and compliance with regulatory standards. The Case Manager II supports strategic initiatives to improve claim outcomes, maintains required licensure, and collaborates with internal teams to ensure adherence to company policies and operational excellence.
About the team:

The Auto Liability team manages claims related to Walmart’s transportation and fleet operations from intake through resolution. Team members conduct detailed investigations, coordinate with internal partners, and assess property and bodily injury exposures. They oversee medical record reviews, repair processes, and collaborate with legal teams while identifying recovery opportunities. The team balances operational and legal considerations, maintaining full ownership of claims decisions. Members are detail-oriented, adaptable, and skilled in investigation and stakeholder coordination, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant claim outcomes aligned with company standards.
What you'll do:
  • Review and analyze initial claim reports to determine compensability in accordance with jurisdictional statutes.
  • Manage a caseload of mid-complexity workers’ compensation and general liability claims throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Establish and adjust reserves within authority limits, escalating cases exceeding thresholds.
  • Authorize and monitor medical treatment to ensure necessity and compliance with guidelines.
  • Calculate wages and issue indemnity payments per jurisdictional requirements.
  • Negotiate and resolve claims with stakeholders to achieve timely, appropriate outcomes.
  • Escalate complex or litigation-prone claims to management as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and internal policies while meeting performance goals.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience managing mid-complexity workers’ compensation or general liability claims throughout the claim lifecycle.
  • Strong skills in claims investigations, resolution, and case management aligned with jurisdictional statutes.
  • Ability to establish accurate reserves and adjudicate claims within assigned financial authority.
  • Knowledge of medical treatment authorization processes using Official Disability Guidelines and nurse resources.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to resolve claims with associates, customers, or attorneys.
  • Commitment to compliance with regulatory, jurisdictional, and internal procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed key performance metrics while delivering exceptional customer service.
This is an onsite position based in Bentonville AR

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
