Role summary:The (USA) Staff, Risk Expert plays a critical role in identifying, assessing, and managing cyber risks to safeguard organizational assets. This position leads the development and implementation of advanced risk assessment techniques, ensuring alignment with corporate policies and emerging security threats. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to enhance risk governance, vulnerability management, and threat intelligence. The incumbent drives continuous improvement in security practices, supports compliance efforts, and mentors team members to strengthen the organization’s overall cyber risk posture while promoting operational resilience and business continuity.

The Technical Controls Assessment team at Walmart is dedicated to protecting enterprise solutions by evaluating security controls and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. The team applies expertise in cyber security, risk management, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to support secure cloud transformations and threat mitigation. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, they identify risks and strengthen Walmart’s security posture. Their work ensures a resilient and secure environment aligned with business objectives, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and trust across all operations and brands.
What you'll do:
- Lead cyber risk assessment activities, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending effective treatments aligned with organizational policies.
- Analyze cybersecurity gaps and project potential business impacts to guide risk management strategies.
- Develop and implement security assessment and testing plans, ensuring continuous improvement of system defenses.
- Manage stakeholder relationships to communicate risk findings and influence risk mitigation efforts across functions.
- Conduct threat intelligence analysis to identify emerging cyber threats and advise on appropriate responses.
- Drive the development and enforcement of corporate security policies and governance frameworks.
- Mentor team members on risk management techniques and emerging cybersecurity trends.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cyber risk assessment, management techniques, and evolving security threats.
- Strong knowledge of governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience in stakeholder management, including identification, engagement, and communication.
- Proficiency in conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Ability to analyze cyber threat intelligence and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Skilled in network security design, implementation, and incident response procedures.
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional team collaboration and vendor relationship management.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
