Role summary:As a Risk Expert III, you will lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of cyber security risks within the organization. This role involves conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and threat modeling to safeguard network infrastructure and data integrity. You will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement security controls aligned with corporate policies and evolving threat landscapes. Your expertise will support continuous improvement of risk management practices, ensuring compliance with security standards and enhancing the organization’s resilience against cyber threats through proactive analysis and strategic recommendations.

The Technical Controls Assessment team at Walmart focuses on safeguarding enterprise solutions by evaluating security controls and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Leveraging expertise in cyber security, risk management, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, the team supports secure cloud transformations and threat mitigation. They work closely with stakeholders to identify risks and enhance Walmart’s security posture. Their efforts contribute to maintaining a resilient and secure environment aligned with business goals, reinforcing the company’s commitment to innovation and trust across all operations and brands.
What you'll do:
- Identify and analyze network security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to recommend effective mitigation measures.
- Design and conduct penetration testing and vulnerability assessments to evaluate system security and compliance.
- Implement perimeter security, network hardening, and authentication controls aligned with organizational requirements.
- Review security logs and audit reports to detect incidents and support remediation efforts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate risk findings and develop actionable security plans.
- Assess security controls against corporate policies and frameworks, proposing improvements to enhance protection.
- Utilize threat modeling and intelligence analysis to anticipate emerging cyber threats and adapt defenses accordingly.
- Perform context engineering to automate workflows.
What you'll bring:
- Proven expertise in cyber security principles, including network security, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessments.
- Strong experience conducting penetration testing and analyzing security vulnerabilities to recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management techniques and the ability to assess and address security gaps within complex environments.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement to communicate risks and collaborate on security solutions across business units.
- Familiarity with security frameworks, policies, and compliance standards to ensure organizational alignment and governance.
- Ability to design and implement security controls and conduct security audits to maintain system integrity.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
