About the team:
The Inventory Optimization team focuses on optimizing inventory distribution by analyzing data to ensure products reach the right locations in appropriate quantities and timing. This team collaborates closely with cross-functional partners to maximize sales and profitability. Members lead efforts in inventory control, profit and loss management, and data-driven decision-making. The team values continuous improvement, accountability, and effective communication to support business goals. By leveraging strong leadership and analytical skills, the team drives operational excellence and supports Walmart’s commitment to delivering value and efficiency across the supply chain.
What you'll do:
  • Oversee inventory management operations, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to support inventory plans and initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop associates by assigning duties, providing training, and promoting accountability.
  • Manage profit and loss related to inventory, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements in inventory processes.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities and implement continuous enhancements.
  • Monitor returns, recalls, and debit memo processes, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution.
  • Present inventory performance results and insights to senior leadership regularly.

What you'll bring:
  • Proven experience in inventory management with strong expertise in inventory control and optimization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including hiring, training, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in profit and loss (P&L) management, with the ability to analyze financial data and drive budget adherence.
  • Strong data analysis capabilities to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders to achieve business objectives and operational excellence.
  • Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and compliance standards while promoting continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location).
