Position Summary...

As an Associate Merchant at Walmart, you will support category management through supplier negotiations, purchase order administration, and item setup for both stores and online channels. You will collaborate cross-functionally to enhance customer experience by ensuring accurate product content and executing promotional strategies. Utilizing data analysis, you will contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and assortment planning to drive category performance. This role requires strong vendor relationship management and a focus on delivering value through effective merchandising and operational support within an omni-channel retail environment.

What you'll do...

• Support supplier negotiations and manage purchase orders for assigned categories.
• Assist merchants with resolving supplier issues and setting up new suppliers for stores and online.
• Execute customer communication and education programs in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Monitor category performance through sales reports and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Develop and implement feature proposals and promotional themes across channels.
• Leverage data analysis tools to generate insights and support decision-making.
• Support item setup, pricing recommendations, and modular assortment execution.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal partners to drive business results.

• Strong skills in category strategy development and execution to support business growth and customer needs.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting to track category performance and inform decision-making.
• Ability to manage product assortment and item setup processes ensuring accuracy and alignment with merchandising goals.
• Effective collaboration skills to work cross-functionally with merchants, planners, and digital teams.
• Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking to support category financial targets.
• Detail-oriented approach to support promotional activities and modular assortment implementation.

The annual salary range for this position is $70,000.00 - $130,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
