What you'll do...
The Senior Manager, Communications & Engagement supports the storytelling, alignment, and engagement efforts that bring Customer Engagement Services (CES) transformation to life. This role builds clear, timely, and compelling communications across associates, leaders, and enterprise partners—ensuring people understand the “why” behind change and feel equipped to engage with it.This leader also helps operationalize CES-wide engagement strategies, including content planning, campaign delivery, recognition moments, and coordination of engagement efforts. While the Director sets the overall strategy, the Sr. Manager owns how we deliver day-to-day messaging, connect with associates, and amplify impact across the business.
About the CES Communications & Engagement Team
We keep more than 3,000 CES associates across the U.S. and India informed, engaged, and inspired. Our team builds and maintains communication channels, manages the CES editorial calendar, and owns our internal audiences. We also led key engagement moments like all-hands meetings, recognition programs, the CES Pulse survey and events such as Customer Service Appreciation Week and Associate Week – CES.
What you'll do...
We’re looking for a seasoned communicator and narrative strategist to join the CES Communications & Engagement team as Senior Manager, Communications & Engagement. In this role, you’ll lead communications and engagement strategies that support CES associates across the U.S. and India, while architecting how CES shows up inside Walmart and helping shape external perception. From driving executive-level messaging to amplifying CES’s voice across enterprise and industry channels, you’ll bring our operational story to life with purpose, clarity, and credibility.
You’ll lead storytelling efforts that align to business priorities, strengthen CES’s role as a strategic partner, and support our position as a change-driving function across Walmart. You’ll be instrumental in recognizing and celebrating associates through compelling storytelling that highlights their impact across the business. Key Responsibilities
- Own the development of internal narratives and exec-level content—including CES-wide updates, briefing docs, thought leadership, and speaking support for senior leaders.
- Act as a strategic comms partner to CES leadership, helping shape messaging for associate-facing events, cross-functional initiatives, and enterprise forums.
- Ensure all internal messaging is aligned to enterprise tone, purpose, and communication
- Partner with Enterprise Comms, Public Affairs, and enterprise stakeholders to position CES in external-facing moments, from media interviews to events and thought leadership platforms.
- Lead content strategy for CES’s external voice—drafting speaker abstracts, LinkedIn content, contributed articles, and supporting executive visibility across channels.
- Identify and activate CES’s role in Walmart’s industry narrative, elevating stories that highlight innovation, operational excellence, and care at scale.
- Build and manage a CES editorial strategy across internal and external priorities, in partnership with Communications and functional leads.
- Translate complex operational strategies into clear, inspiring content for use across channels and audiences (e.g., senior leadership, enterprise teams, external stakeholders).
- Develop content toolkits and reusable templates that empower leaders to cascade.
- Establish success metrics and feedback loops for executive and enterprise storytelling efforts.
- Partner with analytics, digital comms, and business insight teams to assess message resonance, identify gaps, and continuously improve comms effectiveness.
- Serve as a thought partner to CES comms leadership on evolving strategy based on results, sentiment, and stakeholder needs.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and execute both in-person and virtual events from concept through delivery, ensuring seamless experiences and alignment with business objectives.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and emerging technologies to streamline communications workflows, improve team efficiency, enhance content development, and identify innovative ways to scale engagement strategies across CES.
- Mentor and develop junior team members by providing guidance, feedback, and growth opportunities that build communications capability and foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in internal communications, external communications, content strategy or executive communications dealing within large-scale organizations or matrixed environments.
- Strong portfolio of work that demonstrates executive voice alignment, storytelling, and stakeholder-focused communication.
- Familiarity with digital internal platforms (e.g., Spark, OneWalmart, Teams, Sharepoint), and external-facing communications tools (e.g., LinkedIn, PR support).
- Proven ability to evaluate and integrate AI-driven solutions into communications and engagement workflows, with a focus on innovation, operational efficiency, and team productivity.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
