What you'll do...

Manager: Content Strategy / Technical Designer The Manager, Content Strategy & Technical Training Design is responsible for defining, designing, and governing high impact learning experiences for Electrical, Plumbing, and other skilled trade roles, driving measurable on-the-job performance, safety, and technical proficiency. This individual contributor role partners closely with business leaders, subject matter experts (SMEs), and cross functional stakeholders to translate complex business needs into clear, engaging, and scalable learning solutions. In addition to hands-on instructional design leadership, this role provides strategic oversight, content governance, and continuous improvement across training programs and learning ecosystems. Core Responsibilities
  • Design learning solutions for Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, and other Mechanical trades, including system installation, diagnostics, maintenance, and repair.
  • Translate codes, standards, and safety requirements (e.g., electrical safety, lockout/tagout, plumbing compliance concepts) into applied learning experiences.
  • Write scripts and content for video and audio learning assets to support multimodal learning experiences.
  • Develop scenario based‑ training that reflects real jobsite conditions, tools, and constraints faced by technicians.
  • Collaborate with SMEs and learning stakeholders to ensure accuracy, relevance, and real world‑ applicability of training content.
  • Support and train instructors, employees, and learners on the effective use of learning technologies and platforms.
  • Create and maintain high quality digital learning content such as computer‑ based‑ training (CBT) modules, storyboards, instructor manuals, rubrics, and supporting teaching tools.
  • Design and develop end-to-end learning solutions, including courses, curricula, learning activities, assessments, and role based learning paths.
Strategic & Governance Responsibilities
  • Establish content standards that ensure technical accuracy, code alignment, and real‑world trade applicability for Electrical, Plumbing, and other related disciplines.
  • Partner with SMEs to validate training against field practices, tools, and evolving trade requirements.
  • Govern content lifecycle based on changes in equipment, codes, safety practices, or trade processes.
  • Define and execute training content strategy aligned to business objectives, performance outcomes, and adult learning principles.
  • Structure learning content into logical, role‑based learning journeys and reference paths that support on‑the‑job performance and decision‑making.
  • Measure training effectiveness and usage through data and analytics, using insights to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact on behavior and performance.
Project Management & Leadership
  • Lead complex, trade‑focused learning initiatives supporting Electrical, Plumbing, and multi‑trade technician enablement.
  • Manage cross‑functional efforts involving trade SMEs, safety teams, operations leaders, and learning technologists.
  • Drive adoption of training that directly improves field performance, first‑time‑fix rates, safety outcomes, and compliance.
  • Monitor program performance against defined metrics, identify post‑implementation issues, and drive corrective actions and enhancements.
  • Demonstrate adaptability, promote continuous learning, and model best practices in instructional design and content strategy.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Demonstrated expertise in Electrical, Plumbing, or closely related skilled trades, including hands‑on field experience.
  • Strong understanding of tools, materials, systems, safety practices, and troubleshooting workflows used by technicians.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex or technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, learning styles, assessment strategies, and evaluation methods.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bilingual proficiency (Spanish and/or French) is a plus.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent; master’s degree preferred, in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in a skilled trade role as a technician
  • Knowledge of instructional design, learning strategy, or training content development, including leading complex or enterprise scale initiatives.

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
