Role summary:The Senior Manager, Tax, leads complex tax planning and compliance initiatives to support the company’s international indirect tax (VAT/GST) responsibilities. The position requires collaboration with leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure adherence to evolving tax laws and regulations. The Senior Manager oversees tax reporting, mentors team members, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. This role demands strong expertise in indirect tax matters and a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity and compliance.
About the team:
The Global Transaction Tax (GTT) Team serves as Walmart’s global Center of Excellence for indirect taxes, leading VAT and GST strategy, compliance, and innovation across international operations. The team collaborates with business, product, and regional partners to manage complex tax risks and support scalable growth. Operating through a centralized model with strong local execution, GTT sets global standards and governance while assisting in-country teams with compliance and audits. Focused on automation and data-driven insights, the team plays a vital role in enabling third-party seller compliance and embedding tax considerations into business strategy worldwide.
What you'll do:
- Oversee preparation, review, and compliance of international VAT/GST returns and reporting.
- Collaborate with business teams and leadership to address complex tax issues and develop alternatives.
- Manage tax audit processes and maintain compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations.
- Mentor and guide, ensuring adherence to policies and continuous improvement of tax processes.
- Coordinate with internal and external auditors to support accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
What you'll bring:
- Extensive experience in managing complex tax compliance and planning activities across international jurisdictions.
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting, effective tax rate analysis, and tax credit identification.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply evolving tax laws and regulations to optimize tax strategies.
- Expertise in leading tax audits, collaborating with auditors, and ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Proficiency in VAT returns and indirect tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills to support business decision-making.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
