Position Summary...
About the team:The Platform Stability organization safeguards the core driver experience across every step of the Spark Driver lifecycle—from accepting an order, navigating to stores, shopping, traveling, and completing delivery. When on-trip defects emerge, we ensure they are detected early, diagnosed correctly, sized accurately, and resolved quickly.
We serve as the connective tissue between Engineering, Product, Store Ops / tech, Mapping partners, Mission Control, and our 4-in-the-Box (4iTB) decisioning group—ensuring the platform behaves predictably for drivers across every trip, every market, every release.
As Manager, Defect Lifecycle Platform Stability, you will lead end to end detection through resolution of high impact on trip defects. You’ll ensure issues are identified early, scoped accurately, investigated with the right evidence, and resolved with clear engineering accountability. The role spans stability issues across the full driver journey—from app launch to successful delivery. This is not a reactive triage role, but a platform stability and system design role, focused on building strong intake, governance, and post release monitoring to prevent repeat defects. You will also apply a driver advocacy lens to feature design and launch readiness to avoid known failure patterns in future releases.
What you'll do...
Defect Lifecycle Ownership (Signal → Triage → Fix → Verify)
- Own the end‑to‑end defect lifecycle—from signal intake through verified resolution. Consolidate and de‑duplicate signals across Mission Control, contacts, dashboards, verbatims, and telemetry; triage issues with clear problem statements and ownership. Prioritize defects by severity and impact, maintaining a backlog aligned to trip completion, cancellations, and contact propensity.
- Operating Rhythm & Cross‑Functional Leadership
- Lead cross‑functional forums to drive decisions, unblock teams, and confirm owners. Communicate clearly during high‑impact issues and represent driver friction in product and engineering discussions. As the function scales, support hiring and people leadership. Support continuous Improvement & System Design
- 4+ years experience in platform operations, product operations, quality, navigation/geo services, Shopper experience, or consumer-facing technology environments.
- Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting structured and unstructured signals (GPS telemetry, contact transcripts, VOD summaries, Quantum Metric behavior).
- Deep understanding of defect management systems (Jira, AirTable, TechPod) and operational triage workflows.
- Fluency with app, mapping, routing, or on-trip journey logic—preferably in gig, logistics, delivery, or mobility platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify technical issues for VP+ audiences
- Cross-functional leadership ability, especially in environments requiring tradeoff alignment between Engineering, Product, Store Tech, and Operations.
