Position Summary... Decision Sciences builds a digital understanding of Walmart’s operations and turns data into insights and actions at scale. We are looking for someone that excels in critical thinking, data investigation, and story telling that can help reveal actionable insights to our decision makers and leadership. What you'll do... This role is a part of the End 2 End Decision Sciences, Store Data & Analytics. We are an analytics team that will support the innovations that impact our stores. You will help our business partners from multiple cross-functional teams answer unclear questions so they can make the best decision in a timely manner. You will be working with operations, product, finance, and executive leadership teams to provide them with the insights they need to drive Walmart forward in times of rapidly changing technologies.
You’ll make an impact from the first day if you have:
  • Excellent SQL Skills. Capability to manipulate data from multiple tables while keeping the data integrity (3-5 years)
  • Ability to tell a story clearly and concisely with data
  • Business Operations Fluency. Capability to understand and root cause a business problem.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

Responsibilities:
  • Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct ad-hoc analyses to quickly inform critical business decisions. Create ETLs or processes that pull data from multiple places and centralize it in one table.
  • Develop data visualization to monitor and quantify the impact of changes and unique business challenges.
  • Engage with team members and cross-functional teams on a periodic basis and establish credibility. Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information. This includes partnering with Operations, Finance and Product teams on data accuracy, completeness and latency across multiple operations and systems
  • Document your processes and share your knowledge with your peers. Mentor your peers as you become a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Independently drive internal team innovation

Qualifications:
  • Advanced SQL
  • Proficient skills in at least one of: Tableau, PowerBI, AI Tools, Python, R, etc

Preferred
  • Experience with omni-retail operations
  • Experience with Python or other scripting language.
  • Background in statistics, advanced mathematics, economics, etc

The annual salary range for this position is $80,000.00 - $155,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
